I'm going to move my site over to Blog Spot. It just seems a lot easier to update and manage as a blog.

I like designing websites. I like playing around with all the CSS properties and seeing what all I can do. Right now I'm wondering around this massive world of webdesign with no goal. I have no goals of what I want to learn or where I want to go.

I'm not sure what I want to do. I don't know if I want to keep dedicating my time to studying web design, or if I want to set this aside as just a hobby.

I've been working on the site in Firefox. If your using another browser and it looks crappy, you can let me know at the Nukem Enterprises' Message Board.

I've been reading about liquid design, and it's a real pain in the butt. Liquid design is all about formating your webpages so they will be displayed properly, regardless of the users resolution and font size.

What makes it complicated is the many different ways to do it. For the menu on the left, I enclosed everything in a div tag and used float: left. All the content to the right, I enclosed in a div tag and I used positon: absolute. Might not be the best way to do it, but for now, I think it does the trick. The only problem I can see, is if you make the font too big, the links spill over into the content.

Oh yeah, and I tried to absolute position both div tags, but for some reason my links wouldn't work when I used the absolute positioning. I don't understand why.

I've started on the CSS. I like the way it's coming, but there's a few more things I'd like to add in. Maybe some background images? I don't know, we'll see. Also, thank you, colorblender.com. I pretty much have no sense of color, so your site was a life saver.

I've been doing a lot of reading about CSS and HTML. What an eye opener! It seems, I really don't know jack about web development. Things have really changed since I learned the basics of HTML several years ago, so I started fresh and read some new tutorials over at HTML Dog, as well as a few random CSS tutorials I found at Del.icio.us. So this is the result. A new and fresh Blurred Visions.

What do you call that moment where you think you hear something familiar, but you really don't. You might hear a beep, and for a second think it's your ringtone. You'll hear a song on the radio, and in the background you'll hear a siren or a voice. You might not even hear anything at all, you might imagine it. Whatever you hear (or imagine), you think it's real for just a second, and then you realize it isn't. What's that called? I'd describe it as a deja-vu type experience.

Well, it's been a little more than 2 years since I've been here, so I figure it's time for an update. Ok, there it is. A new news post! Enjoy!

But seriously, I think I'm going to do a little something with the site. I've got a lot of new stuff to put up. Here's a few teasers...

"I was amongst a group of people that took cookie breaks. It was a happy place with lots of smiles."

"We were destroying napoleon's house. I was in the dump truck and I decided to shoot cheesy corn into napoleon's empty basement."

I have added a Smoke-Free Counter. This is to monitor the number of days I have gone without smoking. I also added a links page to Nukem's site and Puck's site. I'm probably going to scan some of my drawing as school this week, so I'll put up an Art section at some point in time.

So the to other night I got to thinking that I really need to get serious, serious about quitting smoking. I have to do it. Typical words I've said before, but that won't stop me. To aid in my attempt I have wrote a short story called "Smokey".

I was at school the other day and my imagination started to run wild... Please see the Thoughts page.

Good evening! Here's a little update for ya. I added a little something I wrote up to the "Thoughts" section. I also changed some of the images and format a bit. And added a link to my message board.

Well, hello there. Welcome to my humble little abode on the world wide web. Take a seat, sit back, and relax...

September 25, 2004

Well, I finally got my website up. After looking at some of Nukem's old programs, I really got into the coding-mood and thought I'd work on a website. Well, that's it for now. Time to go open an account on a free server.
